The Martin Audio Blackline H3 is a high-performance, three-way full-range loudspeaker system. It is a legacy product known for its “Hybrid” horn-loaded design, which combines high output with a wide frequency response in a single trapezoidal cabinet.
Driver Configuration
The H3 uses an “all-horn” three-way design to optimize each frequency band:
- Low Frequency (LF): 15-inch (380mm) driver with a 4-inch (100mm) voice coil. It uses a Hybrid® horn/reflex loading to extend bass output below the natural horn cut-off point.
- Mid Frequency (MF): 10-inch (250mm) mid-range driver featuring a unique “phase-ball” loading device. This maintains constant directivity even at the upper end of the mid-range.
- High Frequency (HF): 1-inch (25mm) exit compression driver mounted on a constant directivity horn.
