The L-Acoustics FM115 is a legacy, high-performance floor monitor designed to provide high-SPL, feedback-resistant stage monitoring. Much like the SB218, it is part of the L-Acoustics archives, having been a staple for touring artists before being replaced by the 115XT HiQ and the current X Series (like the X15 HiQ).
- Stage Profile: Its low-profile “wedge” design was engineered to provide clear sightlines for the audience while delivering powerful, direct sound to the performer.
- Directionality: It features a tight dispersion pattern (typically 50° horizontal x 70° vertical) to focus sound on the artist and minimize “bleed” into other microphones on stage.
- Active Operation: Unlike some passive monitors, the FM115 requires two channels of amplification and external processing (historically the MTD or LLC analog controllers) to manage the crossover and protection.
- Durability: Built with the same heavy-duty Baltic birch as the touring PA cabinets, it was designed to withstand the physical rigors of being stepped on by performers.
