The MA grandMA2 onPC Command Wing is a compact, highly portable control hardware solution designed to provide the authentic look, feel, and workflow of a full-sized grandMA2 lighting console in a mobile format. By connecting directly to a Windows PC running the free grandMA2 onPC software, it serves as a hardware “dongle” that unlocks 2,048 parameters of real-time control.
Note: The grandMA2 onPC hardware lineup has been officially discontinued by MA Lighting in favor of grandMA3 systems, but it remains a highly sought-after industry workhorse on the secondary market.
Core Capabilities & Parameter Math
- Out of the Box Control: By connecting a single command wing via USB, you instantly unlock 2,048 parameters (4 DMX universes) inside the software.
- System Expansion: You can expand the system up to a maximum of 4,096 parameters within the onPC ecosystem. This is achieved by combining the command wing with other MA onPC hardware, such as adding up to two MA onPC Fader Wings (which unlock 2,048 parameters each) or utilizing MA 4Port/8Port Nodes onPC.
- Network Backup: In larger network environments, the wing can act as a reliable show backup, handling up to 65,536 parameters.

- Familiar Muscle Memory: The layout mirrors the grandMA2 command section exactly, allowing operators to seamlessly switch between the onPC setup and full-sized consoles without re-learning physical layouts.
- Physical Controls: Features 2 dedicated 100mm A/B playback faders, a precise level-wheel for speedy fixture intensity adjustments, 4 rotary encoders, and dimmable, backlit silent keys.
- On-Board Connectivity:
- Outputs: 2 built-in DMX ports (XLR 5-pin) plus the ability to send two additional DMX universes via Ethernet (Art-Net/sACN).
- Timecode & Remotes: Built-in ports for MIDI (In/Out), SMPTE timecode, and analogue remote control inputs.
- PC Connection: Simple USB type-B connector.
